Separate Certificates and Qualification Certificates

Those who have completed non-degree studies (as alumni studies, for example) are eligible to receive a certificate for the studies. The faculty-specific instructions are listed below.

Equivalency certificate for studies in a subject you intend to teach

An equivalency certificate is an indication that specific studies completed at the University correspond to those that teachers of specific subjects are required to have completed in these subjects in basic education or upper secondary school. For students who complete the studies in the subject in question at the University of Tampere, the subjects are recorded in an appendix to the master’s degree certificate. For those who complete separate studies, the subjects are recorded on a separate certificate. The certificate may be required by those applying for separate pedagogic studies or those who have completed new subject qualifications after their degree. Equivalency certificates

An equivalency certificate is an indication that specific studies completed at the University correspond to those that teachers of specific subjects are required to have completed in these subjects in basic education or upper secondary school. The Faculty of Natural Sciences may grant equivalency certificates for school subjects that are covered by the Faculty’s educational offering.

For students who complete the studies in the subject in question at the University of Tampere, the subjects are recorded in an appendix to the master’s degree certificate. For those who complete separate studies, they are recorded on a separate certificate.

A separate equivalency certificate can be issued based on studies completed at other universities. This certificate costs €126, which will be collected irrespective of whether the request is granted or denied. The fee is based on the Government Decree on Fees Collected by Universities (1082/2009). Equivalency certificates based on studies completed at other universities are applied for with free-form applications. Applicants for an equivalency certificate must present the original study certificates and/or a transcript of the study register indicating the completed studies.
